Foster-Miller has served the food industry for five decades. We have done so in capacities that enable new products through innovative manufacturing concepts and development of custom processed food processing equipment. We would like to add that work paid for by our customers becomes their intellectual property, and any patents that emerge from this work are transferred to the paying customer. We are involved in projects ranging from: Process development and custom equipment design and build. Testing of vending and dispensing equipment. Design and build of equipment for the fast-food industry. Development of new vending equipment for the beverage industry: coffee, soft drinks, etc Analytical work to assure structural integrity of fast-food equipment.
Often starting with the development of a new or modified process, Foster-Miller has designed and built processed food processing equipment for most major food companies, including: General Mills, Nabisco, Kraft, Kellogg's, Gerber, Pizza Hut, and KFC, among others. Much of the equipment we build is proprietary, but the products are market successes: e.g., Gushers®, fat free Fig Newtons®, Tastee® caramel apples. With a staff of 300 engineers of all disciplines, Foster-Miller is uniquely qualified to evaluate vending and dispensing equipment designed and built by others. We are, for example, a test lab for Pepsico's entire array of vending and dispensing equipment. Not only do we test this equipment, we also recommend changes in design, materials and/or components to improve reliability or cost-effectiveness because we have almost 50 years of experience in product manufacturing and equipment design ourselves. Adding product innovation to our knowledge of vending equipment, we have recently designed and built several novel beverage dispensing devices for major international clients that will be publicly introduced in the near future.
